A brief history of me....
I was originally active as a Broadcast Band SWL and discovered Amateur radio via the old Sunday morning AM nets on Top Band (which is still one of my favourite bands). I advanced on to using an R107, National HRO and Codar receivers, I joined the RSGB as A8568 SWL from the early 70's. I was first licensed in 1974 as G8JCG at the age of 15 and converted to the class A licence in 1977. My original QTH was in Maidenhead Berkshire, from which I worked over 275 countries on HF and >25 countries on 2m using SSB,CW and MS. My main interests are still HF DX, 160m and 4m.
Past Rigs : IC740, KW Vespa TX and KW 201 RX, FT200, TS520S, Liner 2.

Antennas : These are in a constant state of flux, due to me changing them or the wind blowing them down. For more details see the antenna pages. The basic line up is: 5 el log periodic at 45 feet, (4 el triband yagi, 10m 3 el wide spaced yagi not in use at present), 144/432 colinear, 6m 4 el yagi, 30metre long inverted L for 160m, 1/4 wave elevated vertical for 7 MHz, 45 ft vertical for 80m.
